15 Governor’s Parade

This is a Town House built during the 19th Century. Overlooking an iconic Piazzella when it was first
built. The area was a hive of activity during the day and at night. The popular Theatre Royal was
located just metres away.

Initially the building consisted of a retail outlet on its ground floor, and 2 floors being living quarters.
The top floor consisted of a spacious laundry room and terrace. On the rear of the building there is a
small light-well. For many years the building remained in a state of disrepair to the extent that it suffered serious structurally and become somewhat of an eyesore to everyone that went by.

After considerable consideration with the Clients, Architects and Structural Engineers it was decided
to demolish the interiors and just leave the outside shell of the building. Care was taken to secure
the front facade whilst this process was carried. All the interior remaining walls were made good and
prepared them to receive the newly galvanized metal structural beams.

A new floor was also added where the laundry and terrace once existed and a new terrace was built
on top of these floors. As the existing wooden stairs was in a poor and dangerous state. A brand new
concrete stairs was built from the 1st floors upwards to the terrace level and the existing stone from
the ground floor was also repaired to a high standard.

A 2 person lift has been installed which required the building of a lift shaft manufactured of steel
beams. This has been a tremendous improvement for the building and its tenants. The building has now been divided into 3 separate air conditioned nicely finished apartments consisting of bedroom, bathroom and open plan living room area with a fitted kitchen. Ideal for young couples.

The best standard of workmanship and materials have been used throughout.
