MBC was contracted at the end of the school year to build an extra floor above an existing classroom as the school was in need of extra space for pupils. The major factor was that works had to be completed before the new school year commenced. Nevertheless, the clients agreed that the works could be completed in 4 months. This involved removing a pitched roof and construction of a new classroom / bathroom over the existing one with a terrace above. Brick blocks were used and wooden joist structures. Also, a new flight of galvanized steel had to be constructed to reach the new terrace. All masonry works, structure and carpentry were carried out by MBC. Electricity, plumbing and façade finished were carried out by subcontractors.
